The End of the Taurus

You served me well the past 4 1/2 years... it was good while it lasted.

This past Friday I had a "fender bender" (as my dad says) on 75 in Richardson while leaving work. The other car happened to be a yellow mid-80's Crown Victoria-type tank with very little damage. I was fine, just a little freaked out.

After surveying the body damage with some professionals, I've decided it's not worth it to fix it. Which means I'm getting a new car. It's something that I was excited about before I really needed one and now that I do it sends me to tears. Seriously. All of the sudden I have to think about financing, insurance, gas mileage, safety, and all of the other things my dad has done for me. I guess it's a step towards real adult hood... I've been trying to put it off as long as possible but I think it might have arrived without any notice. At least the parents aren't kicking me out.

Stay tuned to see what the choice will be...

I ran into a similar situation back in October 2006 and I should have done the same thing that you did. I should have scrapped the Taurus and got another car.

Instead, I decided to fix it and that was a mistake...I kept it going until it gave up in June this year, and that's when I picked up an Accord...

I like the color of your Fusion though. Congrats on the new car.

Hit me back at Crumpled Nothings!
